Classic Lasagna
“Layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella, this classic lasagna is the ultimate comfort food for family dinners.”
✔ Ingredients:
- For the Meat Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Ricotta Mixture:
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- For Assembly:
- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
✔ Directions:
1.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2.Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef, Italian sausage, and diced onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
3.Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
4.In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, chopped spinach, Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder until combined.
5.Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Place 3 cooked lasagna noodles on top.
6.Layer with 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the meat sauce, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers twice more, ending with mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
7.Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
8.Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
