Garlic Mushroom
“A golden, buttery grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with sautéed garlic mushrooms and melted cheese. Comfort food at its finest!”
✔ Ingredients:
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère or fontina cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
✔ Directions:
1.Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until mushrooms are golden and tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
2.Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread. Place two slices, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
3.Layer shredded mozzarella and Gruyère cheeses on each slice, then top with sautéed mushrooms. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
4.Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
5.Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook each sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
6.Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
